I am a first-year physics PhD student researching quantum information theory at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and the Univerisity of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario. My focus is in quantum metrology and quantum learning. I am fortunate to be advised by Professor Sisi Zhou and Professor David Gosset.

In 2025, I graduated Yale University with a B.S. in mathematics.

Undergraduate Research

I enjoyed doing math and physics research throughout my time at Yale.

  • The summer before starting college, I researched combinatorics in the 2021 Polymath Jr Research Experience for Undergraduates with Professor Eric Rowland. We published our results in the Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, linked here.
  • The following summer, I was awarded the 2022 Yale College First-Year Summer Research Fellowship in the Sciences & Engineering to research astrophysics with Professor Daisuke Nagai. I wrote a final report here.
  • In summer 2023, I researched geometry and dynamics as part of Summer Undergraduate Math Research at Yale (SUMRY REU) with Professor Taylor McAdam and Dr. Fernando Al Assal. Our paper is submitted for publication. View the preprint here.
  • In spring 2024, I conducted an independent study in category theory with Professor Pablo Boixeda Alvarez which concluded with an original research project. You can view the project here.
  • In summer 2024, I was a Visiting Scholar at Boston Univeristy Condensed Matter Theory in Professor Anatoli Polkovnikov's lab researching the Wigner-Weyl correspondence and quantum dynamics.

Teaching

I enjoyed being an Undergraduate Learning Assistant (ULA) at Yale, which inovlved running office hours for proof-based linear algebra and real analysis courses. I also worked as a private tutor and took a pedagogy course about teaching math at the college level at Yale. Over my gap year before college, I was employed by Art of Problem Solving as a teaching assistant in live virtual classrooms for combinatorics and contest math courses.
